The Travel List: Top 5 Sweet Treats at Disney World

With every holiday, food is part of the experience, and with Walt Disney World, it is literally a child’s sweet shop!

Being an adult with my own money to spend, and having worked my backside off at the gym all year, I decided this trip to Walt Disney World would mean sampling as much food as possible.

Florida heat and a natural sweet tooth meant I sampled my way through many of the snacks that Disney has to offer. Here are my personal top five favourite sweet treats:

Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich

An absolute classic, whether you need a cool down or just a sugar rush, every time I visit Walt Disney World this is my treat I look forward to the most. There used to be a choc chip cookie version, but who doesn’t love ice cream shaped like Mickey Mouse?

Dole Whip

A must try on every Disney blog I’ve ever read, the Dole Whip from Aloha Isle comes in either float form or in a soft serve cup. The Dole Whip cup was the perfect cool down whilst we waited to meet Aladdin and Jasmine in Adventureland.

Bugs Sundae

Ice cream and sweets! This ice cream from Animal Kingdom’s Dino-Bite Snacks is topped with gummy worms and cookie crumbles.

Coke Float

Visiting Disney Springs? Make sure to head to the top floor of the Coca Cola Store for their rooftop bar and stunning views across Disney Springs. I had a classic Coke float and my mum had the floating Cherry Coca Cola mocktail, both were divine!

The Kitchen Sink

Hardly a light snack, the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream requires team effort! We made the mistake of going for lunch before heading over to the Beach resort on the Boardwalk for this huge dessert! 8 huge scoops of ice cream are loaded with every topping on the bar, including a whole can of whipped cream. Between four of us we just managed to finish our last spoonfuls.
